David Epperson died Wednesday at his home on John Street. He suffered a stroke of paralysis on Tuesday and never rallied. On Monday he was about his work as usual and his death was in consequence quite sudden. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at half past two o’clock, Rev. H. L. Nave officiating. The interment was at Oak Hill.

Mr. Epperson was born in Virginia seventy seven years ago but came here when quite young and continued to reside here until his death. He was the last of a family of seven children, his last remaining brother dying in Illinois last year. He leaves a wife and five grown daughters to mourn his loss. He was an honest, hard working, sober old gentleman for whom all had a good word and who had a good word for everybody. -s
